Why are microaggressions problematic? 

The concept of microaggressions is not new and they are often overlooked or misunderstood in predominantly white societies – which in itself is a microaggression. 

The psychologist Derald W. Sue describes microaggressions as “The everyday slights, indignities, put downs and insults that people of colour, women, LGBT populations or those who are marginalised experiences in their day-to-day interactions with people.”
