Do

You are going to write a letter too.

This letter should be dated from the end of first year of high school, whenever that may be – and addressed to yourself.

In this letter you should detail how you have managed to achieve the successes you identified for yourself. You should try to be as precise as possible about your actions.

As you are writing the letter as if you have already completed S1, you should not use phrases like – ‘I hope’ or ‘I will’.

You can think about the way you approached lessons, your attitude, your priorities, how prepared you were etc.

At the end of your letter, you will have a framework for success in high school, and an idea of the actions that you can take to ensure you have a great year.

Teachers, you may wish to keep these letters and reflect on them with pupils at the end of the academic year.
