The Great P7 Write-Off
You are invited to take part in this year’s competition, where you can win some excellent prizes and have your story read out during We’re Aff Tae the Big School 2023! on the 21st June.
What we would like you to do, is create a text that sums up what it feels like to be a Primary Seven pupil on the verge of High School.
The text can be any style that you like – and we want you to be as creative as possible! So you can write a poem, a news report, a haiku, a story, a song – whatever you like!
The only criteria is that the piece must contain a maximum of 77 words, this means is should also fit on one side of A4 paper.
So, use your 77 words wisely to sum up the emotions and the excitement of moving up to Big School!

Entry Information for Teachers
Our intention is to make this competition as easy as possible for each school to enter.
Once the pupils have completed their text, we ask that you take a photo of each piece (or you can have a small competition in your class first) and send it to Tree of Knowledge via Twitter.
Please attach the photos to a tweet that includes the Twitter handles @Tree_of and @eSgoil. You must also include the hashtag #P7WriteOff – this will allow us to find entries easily.

You do not need to include names of pupils at this stage – if a piece is selected as a winner we will contact you to find out this information.
Whilst Twitter is our preferred form of entry, if the school does not have an account, you can upload your entries to a Sway, Google Drive or similar, and send the link to [email protected] and we will access them this way!
All entries must be submitted by Saturday 10th June 2023
