Welcome to We’re Aff Tae the Big School: Class of 2025.

On this page you will find the links to a series of four free, interactive lessons created to support P7 pupils as they prepare for the exciting move to secondary school.

Developed by Tree of Knowledge in partnership with NeLO (National e-Learning Offer) and Fife Council, these engaging lessons explore key themes like resilience, empathy, and change.

Designed for flexible use in classrooms or at home, each lesson helps pupils feel confident, connected, and ready for their next chapter.

These lessons also support the Live Event ‘We’re Aff Tae The Big School: Class of 2025’, which takes place on the 19th June. This event can be watched LIVE, or on catchup at a later date. To have access to the event please register here.

Transition Lessons

Your Journey to Big School

This lesson helps pupils reflect on their time in primary school and look ahead to the exciting opportunities at secondary.

Through fun activities and discussions, pupils explore their feelings about the transition, celebrate their achievements, and build a positive mindset for the journey ahead.

Building Resilience For Your Secondary School Journey

This lesson helps pupils understand resilience and why it’s such an important skill when moving to secondary school.

Through discussions, activities, and practical strategies, pupils learn how to bounce back from challenges, manage their emotions, and build a positive mindset.

Empathy and Kindness: Superpowers for Secondary School

This lesson helps pupils develop empathy and kindness to build positive relationships in secondary school.

Through activities and role-play, they learn how small acts of understanding and support can make a big difference during their transition.

Big School: A Journey For Pupils and Parents

This interactive lesson brings pupils and parents together to reflect on their primary journey and prepare for the move to secondary school.

Through shared discussions and activities, families explore feelings, expectations, and practical ways to support each other during this exciting transition.

Born to Move – Les Mills

In addition to these four lessons, focusing on mental wellbeing, Tree of Knowledge have also partnered with Les Mills to offer a range of lessons to target physical wellbeing. Every school participating this year will also receive FREE access to their online platform to encourage children to get active and allow you them to experience the vitality and joy that comes from moving to music.

Les Mills BORN TO MOVE™ is all about inspiring young people to fall in love with physical activity. It combines fitness and fun to help kids and teens develop positive self-awareness, confidence and coordination.
