Carlton is a young manager in a family business. He reflects that he is lucky to have had a family business to join but he also recognises that he developed a strong work ethic and understanding of the businesses by working in it both on the operational side and on the administrative side. He is a strong leader of a successful team but notes that he has had to manage people who are much older than him with more experience. This challenge isn’t isolated to family businesses.
