Creating your personal brand starts by looking in the mirror. Ultra Marathon runners and NAVY Seals have gone on record saying that the journey to finding the best version of you starts by correcting “the cracks in your own foundation.” What does that mean? It means in order to show the world the best version of you (your brand), you must recognize your weaknesses, recognize your struggles, and take appropriate steps (social/emotional resources, fitness, nutrition, etc.) to strengthen those elements of your life.  

So we start the process of recognizing the cracks within our foundation…. Now what?! It’s time to put in the work. We all have weaknesses and we all have areas that need improvement. While discovering our brand, it is imperative to take the necessary steps to strengthen our areas of weakness. Are we surrounding ourselves with a positive network? Are we happy about our diet and fitness routine? Are we getting enough sleep at night so we can have a productive tomorrow? All of these things must be taken into account. It could be easy to recognize areas of change, but the important part is putting in the work to MAKE change.

Now that we recognize our weaknesses or areas of concern, it’s time to be proactive and discover more about ourselves. How do we build our own personal empire of self-fulfilment and happiness? It starts by discovering our own brand. What do we like? What do we stand for? What do we genuinely have passion for deep down in our hearts? Are we athletic and reserved? Are we artistic and outgoing? Are we a combination of all of the above? Now is the time to start thinking! Who are we, what do we like, what impact do we want to make, and what are we passionate about?
