This is obviously from a boy’s perspective growing up but I think we all know that we can all have something about our bodies that we think about quite a lot at times. Whether that’s facial hair, size, height, athleticism, our eyebrows, which gender we associate as, spots, disabilities or so much more, it can be very easy to see someone else and wish to looked like that.
Of course, we all know that’s not how bodies work. Yes, you can do things like eat healthily, exercise more or use cosmetics to look different but this can take time and effort, and even then, there are still parts of our appearance that are beyond our control. It is alarming to think how many people will look at these parts of their appearance with hatred. Constantly striving for characteristics of other people. Wanting to be something they’re not. Well it’s time to recognise what we can control and accept what we can’t.
