How we treat ourselves and how we talk to ourselves has a huge impact on our personal drive and motivation throughout the day.  Being a hero to yourself is an important part of your life that can be easily overlooked by all the distractions around us. The schoolwork, friends, parents, community, social media, streaming, and jobs can all take our focus off of ourselves.  The truth is, if we really want to be the best person for any of the previously mentioned, we need to make sure we take care of ourselves first. 

The thoughts you have of yourself in your head directly correlate with the actions you take in life.  It is extremely important to focus on your strengths and the gifts you can give to the world and realize the impact you make to those around you.  It is valuable to be realistic with yourself that you are always growing and to accept and love yourself, even when you make mistakes.  To be able to know and believe that you are doing the absolute best you can and that you are proud of the decisions you make daily, will trickle into your everyday life as kindness, confidence, and energy.  So being good to yourself makes your life better. 

The best part about being a hero to yourself is that it then allows you to be a hero for others as well.  When your personal foundation is strong and you are comfortable with the person you are, your confidence and energy allow you to help others whose personal foundation might not be as strong. So the next time you are feeling down about yourself, take a look in that mirror and remind yourself just how valuable and important you are to this world.  We all have a purpose and a unique impact on this world.  It all starts with us taking care of ourselves and being our own hero.
