Allow your pupils to experiment with these sentences and emotions. This can be done as a whole class exercise from the pupils places, during circle time or as pairs work – whatever suits your space.
Start by asking the pupils to name as many different emotions as they can. Now get them to try saying these sentences using all the different emotions you have come up with.
● This plate of fish & chips is huge!
● Today I am going to tidy my room!
● The puppy won’t stop licking my feet!
● I am climbing a hill today and it will take 4 hours!
● I just looked in my lunch box and there are tuna sandwiches!
● There is so much snow outside that school has been cancelled!
As a class discuss whether or not using different emotions changes the meaning of any of the sentences.
