The Perfect Leader.

Working in groups of 3 or 4, on a large piece of paper you are going to illustrate the Perfect Leader.

Yes, that’s right… draw them!

We fully expect that these will not look like a traditional human in a suit. We know you are more creative than that. We don’t just want a picture of some dude. We want you to consider the skills, behaviours and attributes that you think make a great leader then work out how to illustrate that.

For example, if you think they are passionate they may have a big heart.

Knowledgeable… Brains spilling out of their heads.

Goal Orientated…maybe there is a net behind them.

You get the idea.

Don’t worry if they end up looking a bit strange. All the best leaders are!

When you are done, share your ideas with the class. Were there similarities? Differences? Anything you missed or disagree about?

How do your leadership skills measure up?

Once you have a comprehensive list of the skills, behaviours and attributes required to be a good leader try scoring yourself out of ten against each one.

This will give you an idea of your current strengths and areas for development.

Just remember the perfect leader doesn’t actually exist. No one is all of these things all of the time.
