Recalculating…
Many of us have become reliant on sat-nav and google maps to help us get from A to B. One thing they are excellent at doing is RECALCULATING should a road be closed, or there is a collision up ahead. Wouldn’t it be great if we could do that for ourselves!
Let’s give it a go.
On a big bit of paper map out your journey from now to your future. What does it look like, where do you want to go and what will it look like?
Try to identify milestones you want to achieve along the way. This could be going to uni, travelling, getting your first job, bungee jumping, whatever you have planned. There is no right or wrong, so let your imagination run wild!
Working with a partner, talk them through your plan. Their job is to play devil’s advocate by asking lots of WHAT IF? Questions along the way. Your job is to see if you can adapt, overcome or change your plan as you. A few what if questions are below to get you started.
What if…
- You change your mind
- You don’t get in
- You don’t enjoy it
- You miss home
- You can’t afford to
- Its isn’t what you hoped it would be
- A better opportunity comes along
- A global pandemic hits
The list goes on….
Be sure to really challenge each other as you go, you might just help someone stumble upon a future they had never considered before!
