Do

Get comfortable with what you are good at!

  • Look over the list you created in the previous task and really focus on the things you said you were good at!
  • Take one of the skills from your own list (or more) and write down everything you know and love about this particular skill e.g. playing guitar, writing stories or coming up with ideas.
  • Write down the experience you have within this skill, whether it be doing it in private by yourself or if you have been to lessons, watched videos, read books, watched others etc. Don’t downplay any of your experiences – they are all important!
  • Write down what you are good at, just like the chainsaw… just a few sentences if you want, or a few paragraphs – it is up to you. The point is to start getting comfortable with telling others what you can do well.
  • Think about how you may respond in the future if anyone asks you about your skill. Will you be a chainsaw and tell it like it is or will you hide your talents from the world?
