First Day of Primary School
Before looking ahead to secondary school, take a few minutes to look back together.
Spend some time talking about your child’s first day of primary school.
Pupils, you might want to think about:
- What do you remember about that day?
- How were you feeling? Excited, nervous, or a bit of both?
- Do you remember your teacher or classroom?
Parents or carers, you might want to reflect on:
- How did you feel on that first day?
- What do you remember most clearly?
There’s no need to remember everything. The aim is simply to share memories and notice how you both experienced that moment.
If time allows, here is a quick additional challenge, can you name the teachers your child has had from the start of primary school to now?
