Alice’s Secondary School Resilience Plan 

Before we create our own resilience plans, let’s help a pupil named Alice create hers. Alice is also moving to secondary school and is feeling nervous about it. 

Alice’s challenge is that she’s worried about making new friends in secondary school because she won’t know many people in her new class. 

With your teacher, try to answer the following questions in relation to Alice (you may wish to write the answers on the board as this will provide a template for the next task): 

• How might this challenge make Alice feel? 

• What two positive things could Alice say to herself about this challenge? 

• Can you think of a way Alice could try to solve this challenge? 

• Who is one person Alice could ask for help? 

• What is one way Alice could calm herself if she begins to feel upset? 

Once you have answered all these questions, you will have created a Resilience Plan for Alice – Thank you!
