Now that we’ve heard Emmet’s story about stepping outside his comfort zone, let’s take a few moments to think about your own experience.
Turn to a partner, or work in a trio, and discuss the following:
- Can you think of a time when you displayed courage and stepped outside your comfort zone?
(It might have been trying something new, speaking in front of others, joining a club, or doing something that made you nervous.) - How did it feel before you did it?
(Were you worried, excited, unsure, or a mix of feelings?) - What happened afterwards?
(Did you learn something new? Did it build your confidence?)
Teachers may choose to invite a few pupils to share what they learned from their experience.
