Lockdown Legends : The search is on to recognise the most inspirational teachers & school staff

The Lockdown Legends search has begun – to find and recognise individuals from across the education community, including teachers and staff from primary and secondary schools, who have gone above and beyond during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Nominations are now closed – thank you to everyone who has nominated!

You can view all Lockdown Legend nominees in our Virtual Hall of Fame. Our expert panel of judges (see below), are currently reading all of the nominations and they’ll be whittling it down to a shortlist, where the public will decide our top two prizewinners.

The initiative has been dreamed up by the Tree of Knowledge team to show appreciation, share incredible stories, and celebrate the collective positive mindset that was adopted in response to the pandemic, seen across the education sector.

Pupils, parents, carers and school staff are welcome to nominate their Lockdown Legend.

You could nominate a teacher, head teacher, classroom assistant, or school support staff (Janitors, office / admin staff, kitchen staff, school nurses).

Maybe they’ve set up virtual challenges, set really cool projects, or kept your children entertained in the key worker hub. Perhaps they’ve been out in the community, keeping the face-to-face contact (at a safe distance), or been a lifeline for their team, their pupils and the community.

Once nominated, Lockdown Legends will:

  • Have their names listed on a Virtual Hall of Fame
  • Receive a certificate of appreciation
  • We’ll share the most inspirational stories on social media.

Finally, when nominations close a team of expert panellists will select their favourite Lockdown Legend nomination to win a well-deserved relaxing weekend stay in a Treehouse!

We’re incredibly excited to be working with an esteemed panel of judges. Each will be bringing their own experience to the judging process. They will be reading all of the nominations and they’ll be selecting a shortlist to be announced at the end of August.

We’d like to thank Barclays for putting forward the prize for Lockdown Legends. The two top prize winners will receive a weekend staycation in a Treehouse in beautiful Dunbar, East Lothian.
