An Exciting Announcement…

By Team TOK

In celebration of our 10th year, we have an extra special announcement…

You may have noticed that a few of our Speakers have been visiting schools in the Greater Manchester area and showcasing our inspirational workshops for pupils.

Well, we’d like to introduce you to a new face…

Meet Michelle Farrell-Bell, our newly appointed Regional Director to help us further Inspire the World (focusing on the North of England!)

Psst… Follow Michelle on Twitter

I am delighted to be joining Tree of Knowledge in their 10th Anniversary year. It is such an important time in their growth and development, and I am hugely excited to be supporting them in increasing their reach across the North of England.

Michelle has worked with and supported children and young people in a variety of roles for over 30 years. She started out as a volunteer in a youth centre and progressed to the role of CEO of a Youth Trust. Michelle is driven, passionate and has always been focused on supporting the best outcomes for children and young people. She enjoys developing teams and strategies that will support this to happen.

As a keen networker, Michelle has always embraced the value of learning and sharing good practice.

I have been very honoured to have met and worked with some truly inspirational Headteachers, teachers and support staff, local councillors, MP’s and Directors of Education. All are hugely committed to educating children and young people and I am looking forward to continuing those very positive working relationships.

The values that Tree of Knowledge work hard to deliver and embrace such as Innovation, Learning, Excellence, Passion and Fun are completely aligned to my own and I can see how these values will support the growth and reach of TOK North.

Michelle believes that all young people should have access to programmes that allow them to think beyond what they ever felt they were capable off and is looking forward to making this happen in the North of England.

We grabbed some time with Michelle to ask her some very important questions…

What’s your favourite film?

The Colour Purple! It shows the true value of women’s friendships and the strength and resilience that can come out of friendships.

What’s the best advice you have ever received?

Be yourself!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

To be able to fly as I hate the wait at airports and there are so many places I have yet to see…

When was the last time you felt inspired?

Reading SHINE – seriously!
