10 Super Productive Things To Do On A Sunday

It’s Sunday already?! The weekend has totally flown in, as per usual. But on the upside, tomorrow is a new week where you get to go out and absolutely smash whatever it is you’re planning to smash. Now if you’re anything like me, I know that the temptation on a Sunday afternoon is to watch 35 episodes of “That Netflix Show” everybody’s talking about and do absolutely nothing else under any circumstances whatsoever.

But lazy Sundays are such a great opportunity to set yourself up for the week and get some of that much-needed housekeeping done. So we’ve put together a list of simple things you can get done on a Sunday to keep you relaxed and boost you into next week.

1. Find your new favourite song

 

Spend half an hour going through Spotify or Youtube listening to some random new music from your favourite genre. You’ll be sure to find a song or two that you’ve never heard before that you absolutely love. You’ve just found your jam for the rest of your super productive Sunday!

 

2. Clear out your fridge

 

Open your fridge, take a little sniff. Yep, I know, that needs to be sorted. Like right now. Pull everything out and quickly chuck anything that’s out of date or growing other lifeforms on it. Top tip: cut open half a lemon and leave it in the middle of the fridge to eradicate those smells.

 

3. Meal plan

 

Now that your fridge is nice and clean and you know exactly what you have in there, plan your meals for the week. Plan your breakfasts, lunches and dinners and make a list of what you need to buy for it all; you can get everything you need on the way home tomorrow. This is a great way to stay healthy, organised, varied and to a budget.

 

4. Change your bed sheets & towels

 

Let’s be honest, you’ve been meaning to do this for a while now. According to a recent YouGov poll, one in 20 of us wash our sheets only every four weeks, and more than a third wait 14 days! Ew! There’s no better way to start a new week than by sliding into a crisp, freshly made bed later on tonight. Go change them now. You won’t regret it.

 

5. Organise 1 folder on your computer

 

This is a task that always gets left until it’s too late and your “my documents folder” looks like a bomb’s gone off inside it. Keep it manageable by simply sorting just one folder every week. As the old saying goes: tidy computer, tidy life….or something like that…

 

6. Go for a walk

 

Take some time for yourself with a short walk. A short bit of exercise will help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated and give you some time to clear your head of the bustle of the week before. The fresh air can’t hurt, either.

 

7. Check your bank account

 

Make sure you haven’t been over-spending. If you have, make a plan to cut down this week. It’s so easy to fall into the fear-trap that is not checking your account but keeping on top of your finances each week will eliminate one huge source of unnecessary stress.

 

8. Write down anything nagging you

 

Get any worries, stresses or problems that you have in the back of your mind written down on paper. This will help you put them into perspective and let you start to form your plan of attack for solving the problems and also help you start the new week with a nice clear, relaxed mind.

 

9. Write down your big goals for the week

 

Choose a few bigger things that you absolutely want to achieve by the end of the week and write those down, too. This will help you focus your efforts on the areas that you think they will be best spent on. It also means that by the end of the week, you can hold yourself accountable to both your successes and failures easily, and regroup your goals for next week.

 

10. Plan something fun for the week

 

Take some time to actually plan something to look forward to in your week. This could be a dinner date, a random fitness class, a movie night, a picnic or absolutely anything. Get something organised for you to be excited about!

So get up early, make yourself a big breakfast and get yourself started on one of these easy but productive tasks. Because next week is coming whether you like it or not so you may as well get a huge head start and feel awesome about it at the same time!
